Tryouts 2005

The tryouts for seVen and BigFish, OCUA's coed competitive teams will be:

April 14*: 8-11pm at Ottawa U - Cost is $10
April 27 : 7-9pm at the Frank Clair Dome - Cost is $10
May 1: 2-4pm at Ottawa U - Cost is $5
May 4: 9-11pm at Frank Clair Dome - Cost is $5

Please arrive 30 minutes before each tryout to properly warm-up. We will be starting on the field at the time indicated above, so you will be expected to be cleated and ready to go. Please bring a dark and a white shirt to each tryout for the scrimmage.

This year there are 40-45 spots for interested men and women to become OCUA Co-Ed club players. OCUA invites all players striving to get better in a competitive structure to come out and play.

*The OCUA AGM starts at 6:30 on April 14 and we were told that the meeting would last for 2 hours, and then registration would occur afterwards. If you wish to attend the AGM, please let us know (seventeam AT gmail DOT com), but please try and come to the last part of the tryout, as the tryout is until 11pm. Also, if possible, you can try and send another teammate for at least the registration portion of the AGM. We do not want to discourage players from attending the AGM as this is an important part of being a member of OCUA, but please also understand that this was the only time available to us.

July 30/31 - Coed Jamboree - Ottawa, ON
Aug 11/14 - CUPA Nationals - Winnipeg, MB

We will most likely be playing in the UPA Fall Series as well.

Coed Spring Tune-Up **Change in Time and Location!**

With the warm weather of spring just around the corner, bringing the annual ritual of filling out your summer league rosters for the upcoming summer season, we, the Coed competitive players, are interested in helping facilitate the transition of the seasons by holding an indoor tune-up practice for you and your team.

We have booked some time at the Louis Riel Dome* and will be splitting the time into various drills and scrimmages. We will be planning on playing 6 on 6 full field (well, as close to full field as you can get indoor) during the scrimmages.

*The Louis Riel dome is located behind Louis Riel HS in Blackburn Hamlet. It is right up the street from the hornet's nest where the Thunderdome/Superdome is located. Directions from downtown Ottawa are:
Hwy 417 East
At the split, merge left onto the 174 East
Exit at the Montreal Rd Exit
At the bottom of the ramp, turn right onto St. Joseph Blvd.
At the first set of lights, turn right onto Bearbrook Rd.
Pass the Hornet's Nest/Thunderdome/Superdome on your right, and you will go up a little hill, on your left is Louis Riel HS, and you will see the dome in behind the school.
